![]() I'd like to see them do more streams of actually playing games. Just all around, a major positive in my opinion. Zee used to be the only solo player, and it’s great to have both him and Mike to offer opinions on those now. ![]() Now I have a pair of people who really enjoy those and aren’t afraid to get into the nitty gritty on reviews. Beforehand, if I wanted a review on a heavy Lacerda game, Tom was the only one I could look to (as I knew those weren’t games that either Sam or Zee liked). I am very happy to have all these other personalities on board, I think it helps a lot to be able to cover more games. Camila is still the wild card that I can’t nail down exactly what she prefers, but because of that, I know that I can get a pretty fair opinion from her, free of some of the bias towards certain genres the others might unintentionally let seep in. Roy covers a lot of the IP content because he loves it, and it’s great to have someone who cares about his style of games so much. I know if there’s a solo game coming out, I can count on Mike to give me the scoop on it. I know I can look at what Chris and Wendy talk about and know that there will be a lot of “heavy” gaming reviews from them. You now have folks who seem to specialize in what they prefer. Back in the day when it was mostly just Tom, Zee and Sam, you knew you would mostly get either wargame/miniatures content (Sam), abstract, small footprint, short gameplay time content (Zee), and Tom picked up most of the rest. There is a lot to be said about how having different folks on there have helped it reach a broader audience. I make this post not to disparage or attack anyone but I am genuinely curious as to what others in the board gaming community think about the Dice Tower? I find the addition of the “A-team” limits the chemistry of Tom, Zee and Mike. However, I find myself limiting my consumption to mainly top tens with only Tom, Zee and Mike in them and Board Game Smorgasbord (a show with only Tom, Zee and Mike). I used to love crowdsurfing and love the idea of the board game bracket live episodes. However, I quickly realized that much of the content with the “A-team” seemed to lack chemistry. I figured more people meant more content that I would enjoy. I found myself excited at first when the Dice Tower started to bring on more staff. I have backed their Kickstarter for several years now and consumed a lot of their primary content. I consider myself a fan and supporter of the Dice Tower. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subredditĬhanges over the past year at the Dice Tower have me curious to see how others in the community feel about Tom, Zee and Mike vs the “A-team.”.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
